The Holographs of Esmerald's Story on 'Head Hill'
The Second of the Wormhole Away Missions launched from Botany Station on 17 Jan 2510. The team found a vessel landed by an ancient site on a distant water covered world.
Ellie landed the team on the surf of a small beach, where they disembarked and made their way to the landed vessel, finding a small trader nestled into the sands, the power readings showing it was recently arrived as well.
Discipline within the volunteer team was put to the test as a disagreement arose, with some team members wanting to force their way into the vessel, and others wanting to search for the crew. After a heated argument, where weapons were drawn, the team decided to search the nearby hills and palm forest.
Soon the team discovered the ship's captain and lone crew member, a female humanoid calling herself Esmeralda. The woman, seated at the center of an ancient monument of Moai Heads, greeted the team and welcomed them with a tale of her people. As she spoke, an apparent hologram rose around the ring of heads, displaying images which illustrated the woman's story.
As the tale was coming to a close, Ellie called from Alpha, alerting the team to arriving vessels in orbit. The team scrambled back to the shuttle as Har'ken fighters engaged. Once airborne, Alpha engaged the fighters in a running dogfight to the wormhole, which was forecast to be open for some time.
Alpha led the fighters though the wormhole with them in hot pursuit, the Har'ken cruiser not far behind. As Alpha cleared the event horizon, the team radioed a warning to the Station. As the first fighters emerged, the station fired a powerful beam weapon into the wormhole, collapsing it, and keeping the Har'ken from returning to Colony Space.
Immediately following the firing, Administrator Lane collapsed on the bridge of the station, and had to be taken to the Medbay for recovery.
